women's singing circle

This is a weekly singing circle for women to come together and share simple folk songs, with canons/ rounds, and some basic polyphonic singing. You do not have to have good English to attend this event, nor do you need to read music or have singing experience. This event is about leaving your ego at the door, sharing cultures and building community.

About me: I'm Alice Turner, a native from the UK with a background in arts and theater. I aim to create a space to share and exchange songs and canons from my own culture (English traditional folk) as well as learn songs from Bulgaria and abroad.

If you have an accessible and easy-to-learn song from your culture you wish to share, please bring it along!

Languages: The sessions will be conducted in English but some songs will be in other languages (Bulgarian, etc) as a way to share different languages and cultures.
