women's singing circle

This was weekly singing circle for women to come together and share simple songs, with canons/ rounds, body percussion and some basic polyphonic singing. 

This group wasn't about being a perfect singer: it was about leaving your ego at the door, sharing cultures and building community.

The aim was to create a space to share and exchange songs and canons, and the stories that went along with them.

We encouraged the singers to bring easy-to-learn songs to share with each other. 

We also started running some open singing sessions at Izzy's cafe, with folk songs and sea shanties.
