What is Dread?

Dread is a comedy-horror themed table top roleplaying game. Think Dungeons and Dragons, but instead of using dice to determine the outcome of your character's choices, you pull blocks from a jenga tower. If the tower falls, your character tragically dies...

(Created by Epidiah Ravachol and Nathaniel Barmore)

Tone:

This is a horror game, but I want to set the tone relatively light. Think a cheesy 80's b-movie, or  'Shaun of the dead/ Werewolves in London/ scooby doo' with some horror cliches and gore, but nothing explicit. 50% suspense / 50% goofiness.

Content and boundaries

This game will be run for a PG 13 film rating.

Homophobic/ sexist or racist roleplaying will not be tolerated in the game. Nor will there be any explicit violence or sexual content. This game will feature some gore (blood), and it's likely some characters will die. (but don't worry, you can come back as ghost ro another character so you don't feel excluded)

You can read my article here to learn more about content boudaries and safety tools I use in table-top roleplay games.
